Kesha Lee (also known as K. Lee) has quickly blazed her own trail in engineering and is making a mark in the industry with her crisp sound and creative edits. The Birmingham, Alabama native's passion for music and technology began as a teenager when her father introduced her to Pro Tools 7 and grew when she later discovered Garageband on her mother's Mac. While interning at 98.7 Kiss fm, K.Lee decided to take a leap of faith and move to Atlanta to pursue a career in engineering. Despite spending late nights in the studio while also attending class, she was able to complete AIM with perfect attendance. Towards the end of her schooling, she met trap music pioneer and Atlanta legend, Gucci Mane which led to the initial start of her career. After a short period of freelance work, her speed, proficiency, and creativity made her the go-to engineer for some of the industry’s hottest artists, such as Generation Now superstar, Lil Uzi Vert. This Multi-Platinum Grammy Award-Winning sound engineer has also worked with heavy-hitters such as Pharrell, Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Migos, Future, Metro Boomin, and many more. After becoming the fourth woman to ever be featured in Sound on Sound’s Inside Track, being named Forbes Top 30 Under 30 and also “rap’s secret weapon” by Fader, it is safe to say there is more success in the near future for K. Lee.
